Well, my sister just called me...it's 11:30 pm here...she says that Kimmie stayed awake almost all afternoon, off and on...while 2 of her good friends were visiting her. She actually pulled her friend, Marie, down to her in the bed so she could hug her!!! When her fiance, Joel, came in...she took his ballcap off his head and put it on herself! *chuckles*  Mary said Kim also tried to prop herself up on her good arm while they had her sitting in bed. She said she couldn't do it all by herself yet...but she was trying! She also managed quite nicely at putting lip gloss on herself!!! Mary had to laugh...she said basically it was a GREAT day and that Kimmie was managing quite well for someone still technically in a coma! She still slips back under after every awake time, but they are getting much longer and much more frequent now! This is a great day indeed!

She is still having fevers & bad night sweats. The Drs. say she is experiencing "neural storms"...and that her brain is trying to heal itself and make new connections. I suppose that is a good thing...although uncomfortable for her, I would think. If anyone reading this has had the same experience with their loved one, could you please advise if these persist and for how long. Thank you!
