"I've been asleep for HOW LONG?????" Now how is THAT for a look?!?!?  Even though this is going back in time a bit, I just had to put it in here...you'll be AMAZED at the MAJOR difference between this picture and the ones that follow!!!  :):)

This photo is from about the time that I wrote the update about how I called and Kimmie answered her own phone :)  Notice the trach tube is now gone and just a band-aid remains. She was "whisper-talking" at this point. I thought this photo looked good until I saw the rest!

Here's our Kimmie - up and on the move with her therapists in the hallway! Does she look WONDERFUL or what!?  This is a GREAT picture!!!

Here's my personal favorite of all of these pics - that's a genuine smile (not posed for the camera). She looks perfect!! OK...a bit on the skinny side, but as close to perfect as I could possibly ask for!  :)

This is another one of my favorite photos!!!  Kimmie loves her nieces and nephews! Here are all four of them in one pic! The little boy with the cap on is the one that she woke up for & reached out to that first day... Notice the t-shirt she's wearing...that's the one I sent her from Florida!  :)

She's strong already in this photo, but she is even stronger now. This was taken a couple of weeks ago! She can now walk without the walker!!

The following is a copy of the letter that Kimmie sent to my parents. She wrote it herself (not sure which hand she used...the signature is great!). She was thanking her Granny for the new bras and panties - sounds kind of odd, perhaps, but there really IS a story behind that!  When they brought her into the trauma room, they cut her good underwear off! *chuckles*  Hey, they were expensive (V*******'s Secret)! Anyhow, my Mom sent her a catalog and credit card so she could order whatever she wanted to replace the ones lost.
